“What’s nice about concrete is that it looks unfinished”

While on an architectural tour during college, the Mill Owner’s Association building in Ahmedabad designed by Le Corbusier was on the list. It was a forlorn-looking building set away from the entry to the area. What took me by surprise was that I felt a sobering effect of sorts. I pulled myself away from my ebullient classmates and wandered about in quiet reflection, thinking over what had caught my fancy without my conscious wishing. The building had stark concrete surfaces bearing down on me and yet it did not trammel me. Exploring the entire building….
